The Academy invited Dr. Gordon M. Trenholme, an infectious disease specialist at Rush University Medical Center, to AAO 2014 to provide an overview of the Ebola virus and the 2014 epidemic in West Africa. Dr. Trenholme describes the disease process and course, and explains how to screen patients and prevent transmission in a clinical setting.
