    Cataract/Anterior Segment

ECCE (manual non phaco techniques) needs to be learned by a phaco surgeon. There are cases in which the surgeon needs to perform cataract surgery by ECCE rather than phaco. For instance if the rhexis has been lost in a mature hard cataract or cases with low endothelial counts, sinking nucleus etc. ECCE is still alive when indicated. Precis: There are surgical indications in which manual non phaco cataract suregry is done.
