First Argus II Implant Performed in the Middle East

The Argus II retinal prosthesis was implanted for the first time in the Middle East on February 2, 2013, at the King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The patient, who presented with an advanced form of retinitis pigmentosa had progressed well at 2-months follow-up.
