    Corneal endothelial cell loss is a common and difficult long-term complication following penetrating keratoplasty and endothelial keratoplasty. Dr. Shigeru Kinoshita describes multiple therapeutic modalities under investigation for cell proliferation following cell loss. The approaches include cultivated cell sheet transplantation, injection therapy, and eye drops.
