This video shows a practical surgical procedure for getting rid of suprachoroidal fluid in a patient who has both choroidal and retinal detachment (RD) at the time of surgery. A 23-year-old woman diagnosed with a giant retinal tear and RD was referred for surgery. During surgery, we noticed that the eye was too soft and we could not pass from the pars plana due to choroidal detachment. We decided to drain the suprachoroidal fluid via a small cut in the sclera. We put an infusion line into the anterior chamber and drained the fluid. The thickness of the choroid in both pars plana and posterior segment decreased after drainage, and we finished surgery with no problem.
