The aim of this video is to present some practical tips for optimizing outcomes with the iStent inject, a new FDA-approved trabecular meshwork bypass device for IOP reduction in glaucoma. The iStent inject is designed to lower IOP by bypassing the trabecular meshwork and enhancing the conventional aqueous outflow pathway. This video presents six steps to successful surgery. Optimal outcomes can be achieved by ensuring correct patient positioning, targeting stent placement and avoiding under- or over-implantation. We also show how a smartphone can help improve results.
