Laser Release of the Orbitomalar Ligament and Orbicularis Suspension
By Jeffrey S. Schiller, MD
Annual Meeting 2013
Oculoplastics/Orbit
In this 2013 Oculofacial Plastic Surgery Subspecialty Day presentation, Dr. Jeffrey Schiller discusses the advantages of lower eyelid rejuvenation using a skin-muscle approach to release the eyelid and midface tethering osseocutaneous ligaments. He says it’s a safe procedure that produces powerful results without fat transposition, fat grafting or deep-plane dissection. The benefits include orbicularis and midface lifting, smoothing of lid-cheek junction, effacement of the tear trough, and correction of malar folds and bags, all of which improve facial aesthetic balance.
