For more than 7 years, Dr. Karen Skjoedt has routinely implanted Permacol, a crosslinked acellular porcine dermal collagen implant, as a spacer in patients with a malpositioned lower eyelid. She reports that most of the 43 patients she has treated have experienced good results, however, irradiated patients should be offered alternatives.
