    Pediatric Ophth/Strabismus

In myopic strabismus fixus, there is acquired esotropia and hypotropia associated with restricted elevation and abduction. Medial displacement of the superior rectus and inferior displacement of the lateral rectus plays an important role in the pathogenesis of this condition. Conventional management by a recess resect procedure will usually give poor results. This video demonstrates a novel technique for the management of these cases by anchoring the superior and lateral rectus muscles along the physiological meridian using a 4-0 ethibond suture or silicon band, with good results postoperatively.
