Cataract/Anterior Segment, Glaucoma, New Technology and Instruments, Surgical Management

In this presentation from AAO 2016, Ike K. Ahmed, MD, discusses the newest MIGS devices that might or might not be in available in the US. MIGS is predicated on safety, but the ultimate goal is to be effective in lowering IOP.  Ophthalmology is in the era of microstenting, and by using multiple stents, further IOP lowering can be achieved. The iStent is efficient and has proved to be valuable. He also discusses new Schlemm’s canal procedures, Schaffolding SC stents, use of viscoexpansion with microstenting, and how the way blebs are created might be changing. The presentation is followed by an interactive panel discussion.

This presentation was co-sponsored by the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS).
