    Cataract/Anterior Segment

PURPOSE: To show that in case of visual axis reproliferation (VAR) after primary posterior continuous curvilinear capsulorhexis (PPCCC), it is possible to clean the proliferative tissue without having to perform an anterior vitrectomy. METHODS: Two cases are presented showing the surgical cleaning of lens epithelial cell proliferation in the posterior capsulorrhexis area in eyes that have been operated from cataract with PPCCC. RESULTS: Surgical cleaning was successful without anterior vitrectomy. CONCLUSION: Both cases show that it is possible to preserve the anterior hyaloid in eyes presenting with VAR after cataract and PPCCC.
