New and Future Technologies: mERG, mfVEP, Ganglion Cell Markers

    Glaucoma Subspecialty Day 2016

    Diagnostic & Imaging, Glaucoma

Dr. Stuart Mckinnon reviews the clinical application of electrophysiological testing, which can offer quantitative data to aid in initial diagnosis and subsequent treatment of glaucoma. In particular, he focuses on pattern electroretinography (pERG) and pattern visual evoked potentials (VEP). Advantages of these techniques include earlier diagnosis compared with OCT, less frequent follow-ups, discrimination between IOPs that require treatment, and subjective monitoring of progression and treatment efficacy.
