The Big Bubble technique is the ideal technique for deep lamellar keratoplasty (DALK) as it allows almost complete baring of the Descemet membrane. However, it has a steep learning curve and the "bubble" can be elusive to many corneal surgeons. This video demonstrates how to proceed in the event of a failed bubble attempt. A simple new technique, the Groove & Peel technique, and other techniques of DALK are also described with the help of surgical videos and animations.
