    Orbital Myths

    By Michael Kazim, MD
    Annual Meeting 2013
    Oculoplastics/Orbit

Due to the rarity of orbital disease and the limitation of animal models and funding, the management of orbital disorders remains unsettled, says Dr. Michael Kazim.  In this 2013 Oculofacial Plastic Surgery Subspecialty Day presentation, he urges physicians to be skeptical of small studies on rare, phenotypically diverse diseases. However, Dr. Kazim does see hope in collaborative research foundations, tissue banks, genomic analysis, and targeted medical therapeutics.
