Corneal tattooing can be used to improve cosmesis. Often tattoos fade with time, requiring a repeat procedure. Fading can be obviated by use of an intrastromal lamellar pocket technique. Three techniques will be demonstrated: manual dissection, Ferrara ring lamellar dissection, and the use of the femtosecond laser. India ink injected in the lamellar pocket ensured staining well within the corneal stroma and was confirmed by clinical examination and anterior segment ocular coherence tomography.
