• the fundus camera, the normal fundus autofluorescence (FAF) image, and future directions in FAF imaging, including the principles of eye tracking, image averaging, and modified cameras (quantified FAF and spectrally resolved FAF)
• FAF descriptors (iso-FAF, hypo-FAF, and hyper-FAF)
• the use of FAF and spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) to systematically evaluate normal aging and major retinal diseases (eg, age-related macular degeneration, hereditary and inflammatory disorders, and nevi/tumor)
