When to Admit the Patient with Papilledema

    AAO 2016
    Intracranial Pressure/Headache , Neuro-Ophthalmology/Orbit

In this presentation from AAO 2016, Dr. Rod Foroozan presents 3 distress signals, including maligancy, infection, and immunosupression. Ocular finding signals include loss of central vision, degree of disc edema, and transient visual obsurations. Because of this, patients should be imaged with some type of suggestive imaging, either mass lession, hydrocephalus, menengeal enhancement, or obstruction of the venous sinus system.

This presentation was co-sponsored by North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society (NANOS).
