It is important to note that there is a nuclear block in a morgagnian cataract, so each compartment has its own endocapsular pressure. Dr. Osher recommends staining the capsule, putting in a heavy ophthalmic viscosurgical device (OVD), making a small rexus, and decompressing the posterior compartment.
