    White Cataract: Capsulorhexis Pearls

    By Robert H. Osher, MD
    Annual Meeting 2012
    Cataract/Anterior Segment

In this segment of the Spotlight on Cataracts from the 2012 Annual Meeting, Dr. Robert Osher discusses Carlos Figueiredo's approach to the Argentinian flag prophylaxis. It is important to note that there is a nuclear block in a morgagnian cataract, so each compartment has its own endocapsular pressure. Dr. Osher recommends staining the capsule, putting in a heavy ophthalmic viscosurgical device (OVD), making a small rexus, and decompressing the posterior compartment.
