AAO 2024 Program Participants – Abstract Submitters
Presenters for events accepted through the abstract submission process must register themselves and pay the applicable registration fee. These events include:
- Instruction courses
- AAOE instruction courses
- Skills Transfer courses
- Papers
- Posters
- Videos
AAO 2024 Program Participants – Invited Speakers
Academy members, AAOE members, and non-ophthalmologists who are invited to speak during AAO 2024 will receive complimentary registration. The Academy will automatically process these registrations.
Nonmember ophthalmologists are encouraged to become Academy members, as complimentary registration for invited speakers is a member benefit. Nonmember ophthalmologists who choose not to become a member must register themselves and pay the applicable registration fee.
Invited speakers include those participating in the following events:
- Symposia
- Academy Café
- Learning Lounge
- AAOE Practice Management Master Classes
- Ask the Experts
- Technology Pavilion
Subspecialty Day Faculty
Invited Subspecialty Day faculty members receive complimentary registration for the Subspecialty Day meeting in which they are participating. The Academy will automatically register faculty.
Subspecialty Day registration is now sold by day – Friday and/or Saturday – so you will be registered for the day during which your meeting is taking place. If you wish to attend the other day of Subspecialty Day, you will need to register and pay the applicable registration fee.
Retina Subspecialty Day faculty will still be registered for both days of Subspecialty Day because it is a two-day program.
If you also plan to attend AAO 2024, you will need to register for it and pay the appropriate registration fees, unless you qualify as an AAO 2024 invited speaker as noted above.
In-Person versus Virtual
AAO 2024 program participants and Subspecialty Day faculty who are scheduled to appear in person in Chicago must be registered to present. There will not be an option to flip to virtual if your course/session/presentation was accepted for in-person.
Instruction course content created exclusively for AAO 2024 Virtual will be placed in the virtual meeting; instructors for these courses are not required to register for AAO 2024 if not attending either in person or virtually.
