Chapter 9: Primary Angle Closure
Primary angle closure is 2–4 times more common in women than in men, irrespective of race. Studies assessing ocular biometry data have found that women tend to have smaller anterior segments and shorter ALs than men. These differences, however, do not appear to be large enough to completely explain the sex predilection.
