Dr. Chiang is an attending surgeon at Wills Eye Hospital, assistant professor of ophthalmology at Thomas Jefferson University and partner at Mid Atlantic Retina in Philadelphia. His research areas of interest include innovative therapeutic approaches to age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and surgical disorders of the macula and retina. Dr. Chiang is principal investigator for several clinical trials and studies on diabetic macular edema and AMD. He serves as editor for numerous publications, and is a committee member at the Wills Eye Hospital.
Dr. Chiang graduated magna cum laude from Brown University, and received his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine. He completed his internship at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego and ophthalmology residency at the Jules Stein Eye Institute, where he was named excellent resident in surgery and clinical research. Afterwards, he completed a retina fellowship at Wills Eye Hospital, receiving the William Tasman, MD, Outstanding Fellow Award.
