Dr. Ramasubramanian is assistant professor of pediatric ophthalmology and oncology at the University of Louisville with research interests in adult and pediatric eye cancers, particularly retinoblastoma. She serves as the program developer for Cure Retinoblastoma headed by the Children’s Eye Foundation. She is double certified in the United States and India and acts as editor for numerous publications.
Dr. Ramasubramanian received her medical degree at the University of Kerala, and completed her residency at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER) in India and Drexel and Indiana Universities. Subsequently, she completed a fellowship in ocular oncology at the Wills Eye Institute and a pediatric fellowship at Children’s Hospital in Boston. During this time, she was awarded the Von L. Meyer Research award from Harvard Medical School. Her ophthalmology residency was completed at Indiana and Drexel Universities.
