Dr. Carl Danzig joined Rand Eye Institute in Deerfield Beach, Fla., as director of vitreo-retinal services in July 2011. He is experienced in the treatment of disorders, including macular degeneration, macular edema, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment and retinal vein occlusion.
Dr. Danzig received his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed his internship at Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Upland, Pa. Prior to his residency at Martin Luther King Jr. Hospital/Charles R. Drew University in Los Angeles and State University of New York-Downstate in Brooklyn, N.Y., he performed a year of clinical research in the oncology department at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. He also completed a two-year vitreo-retinal fellowship at the University of Texas/Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
He has lectured internationally, presented at meetings of major ophthalmologic organizations, and is an author of numerous medical journal articles.
Dr. Danzig earned his undergraduate degree in philosophy at Tulane University in New Orleans. His hobbies include glassblowing.
