Claudia Perez-Straziota, MD, is a cornea specialist at Cornea Eye Institute in Beverly Hills, CA, and clinical assistant professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Southern California. She specializes in advanced corneal transplantation techniques, complicated cataract extraction, and premium intraocular lenses, as well as keratoconus diagnosis and management.
Originally from Caracas, Venezuela, she completed Medical School at the Universidad Central de Venezuela and then moved to the United States to complete her Ophthalmology Residency and Fellowship in Cornea, External Disease and Refractive Surgery at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
Dr. Perez-Straziota is a reviewer for several national and international peer-reviewed journals and has written multiple publications and book chapters. She has given numerous presentations at national and international ophthalmology conferences, including the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery annual meeting, where she was awarded Best Paper of Session several times. Her main areas of academic interest are corneal imaging, clinical optics, endothelial keratoplasty, and surface disease. She also enjoys mentoring and surgical training of ophthalmology residents.
