Dr. Damien Luviano is the immediate past Senior Editor for the ONE Network Comprehensive section, and a current editorial board committee member of the ONE Network Cornea section. He is board-certified in both ophthalmology and clinical informatics, and he serves full-time as the ophthalmology program director at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salem, Virginia. He also holds faculty positions at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, and Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. He enjoys teaching oral board review courses and is the author of The Osler Institute Ophthalmology Oral Board Review Study Manual and Ophthalmology Oral Board Review.
Dr. Luviano grew up in Houston, Texas where he attended the Dr. Michael Debakey High School for Health Professions. After joining the Army, he earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Schoo. Dr. Luviano completed his internship in general surgery at the Methodist Hospital in Dallas and an ophthalmology residency at the Los Angeles County/Martin Luther King Jr./Drew Medical Center.
