  • Dr. Wladis is a professor and chair of ophthalmology at the Lions Eye Institute of Albany Medical College. He received his MD from the State University of New York in Syracuse and completed a residency in ophthalmology at the New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Wladis completed a fellowship in Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Scheie Eye Institute, then moved to the University of Vermont to complete fellowships in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Neuro-Ophthalmology. He holds a number of leadership positions, including serving as an editor of the AAO  Oculoplastic Knowledge Center and Fellowship Director of Oculoplastic and Orbital Surgery for the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
