Dr. Gabriel Valerio is Lieutenant Commander at the U.S. Navy Medical Corps. He is currently completing fellowship training in Cornea and External Disease at Stanford University. Dr. Valerio previously served overseas as a comprehensive ophthalmologist at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Yokosuka, Japan.
Dr. Valerio attended the University of California, San Diego where he received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Biology. He was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Navy and completed medical school at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. He completed a General Surgery Internship at Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia and went on to serve as the Battalion Surgeon for two U.S. Marine Corps units where he was deployed to the Pacific. He completed his Ophthalmology residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego.
