Dr. Kornmann is a fellowship-trained glaucoma clinician and surgeon who practices at the Glaucoma Associates of Texas. Prior to moving to Texas, she was an assistant professor of clinical ophthalmology at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, where she was actively involved in the clinical and surgical training of ophthalmology residents and glaucoma fellows, as well as caring for complex glaucoma patients. During her tenure at Bascom Palmer, Dr. Kornmann also published several papers, served as a reviewer for the journal Ophthalmology, and has been a presenter and panel member at numerous national meetings, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Glaucoma Society.
She obtained her medical degree from Loma Linda University, during which she was awarded the National Institutes of Health Research Training Award. Upon graduation, Dr. Kornmann continued to pursue her academic interests, and was selected for the Eye Specialty Training and Advanced Research Program at UCLA, where she earned her PhD in vision neuroscience. She then completed her ophthalmology residency at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA, and completed her glaucoma fellowship at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida.
