Dr. Igor Bussel is an ophthalmologist with a clinical focus on routine/complex cataract and glaucoma, traditional and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery and advanced anterior segment surgery. He is actively involved in research on ophthalmic imaging and devices to improve the safety and predictability of glaucoma surgery.
Dr. Bussel graduated from Chicago Medical School with an MD/MHA dual-degree and was awarded the Doris Duke Clinical Research Fellowship. He finished Ophthalmology residency at the University of Pittsburgh / UPMC where he published research in ophthalmic imaging and glaucoma surgical outcomes. Dr. Bussel went on to complete fellowship training in Glaucoma and Advanced Anterior Segment Surgery at Washington University in St. Louis, MO. He is completing a second hybrid Glaucoma fellowship at the University of California, Irvine.
