• Dr Lisa S. Schocket is a vitreoretinal specialist who serves as chief of the vitreoretinal disease section at the University of Maryland Eye Associates in Baltimore, Maryland. She is also associate professor and vice chair of clinical affairs at the University of Maryland, department of ophthalmology. She is a board-certified ophthalmologist and a vitreoretinal surgeon who specializes in the medical and surgical management of retinal diseases including diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinal vascular occlusions, retinal detachments, macular holes, and cataract complications. Additionally, Dr Schocket is actively involved in clinical research for a variety of retinal diseases. Dr Schocket has been invited to speak and present her research at both national and international meetings. She is a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists, the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Maryland Society of Eye Physicians & Surgeons.

    Dr. Schocket received her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where she was also an intern, before completing her residency in ophthalmology at the Scheie Eye Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr Schocket then completed her fellowship in retinal surgery at Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston and the New England Eye Center, associated with Tufts University, in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr Schocket was in private practice in Baltimore for 9 years before joining the University of Maryland, where she earned a reputation for quality patient care and providing the latest available treatments.
