Dr. Michael Banitt is an associate professor of ophthalmology at the University of Washington at Seattle. He is fellowship-trained in the medical and surgical treatment of cornea and external diseases, refractive surgery and glaucoma. His research interests include new therapies for glaucoma, and also in medical and surgical education. He is actively involved in the development and evaluation of new teaching strategies for resident and fellowship education in the US and globally. Dr. Banitt serves as the assistant Medical Director at SightLife eye bank. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and the American Glaucoma Society.
Dr Banitt completed his ophthalmology training at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in New York City. he later became subspecialty trained in Cornea and external diseases at the University of Michigan and then glaucoma at the University of Miami.
