  • Dr. Patel is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in medical retina, uveitis and comprehensive ophthalmology. She is an associate professor of ophthalmology at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, and practices at the Atlanta VA Medical Center and Emory Eye Center.

    She completed her undergraduate and medical degrees at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn., and her ophthalmology residency at Emory Eye Center, where she served as chief resident. This was followed by a fellowship in medical retina and uveitis at Doheny Eye Institute at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.

    Dr. Patel has a special interest in education and is very involved in resident education at Emory. She serves on the Georgia Society of Ophthalmology’s Council and is the Chair of the Academy’s Young Ophthalmologist committee.
