Dr. Albini is a professor of clinical ophthalmology at University of Miami, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. His clinical specialties include macular disease, uveitis, vitreoretinal disease and surgery, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration. His research interests, experimental autoimmune uveitis and intravitreal injection, stemmed from his early facination with immunology and the retina.
Dr. Albini received his medical degree from John Hopkins School of Medicine in 1999 and then spent 1 year as an internal medicine intern at Jackson Memorial Hospital, Florida. In 2000, he moved to the University of Southern California for his ophthalmology residency, and a subsequent uveitis and ocular pathology fellowship. He also completed a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in 2006.
