In this surgical video, Dr. Enchun Liu repairs a diabetic tractional retinal detachment (TRD) with a vitrectomy probe. The retractor is used to separate the posterior hyaloid from the retina, bluntly dissect fibrotic membranes and break adhesions, and trim remaining tissues. No iatrogenic retinal breaks were created, and scleral depression showed that there were no peripheral breaks. At 6 months postop, the patient's visual acuity remained 20/150 with reattachment of the macula.
