Excision of Conjunctival Lesion 2
Focal Points: Ocular Surface Neoplasia
Cornea/External Disease, Ocular Pathology/Oncology
This surgical video demonstrates the excision of a suspicious conjunctival lesion. During the procedure, the tumor is excised with 3–4-mm conjunctival margins. Absolute alcohol may be used if a corneal tumor is present. Importance of orientation is also clearly shown. The affected margins of conjunctiva and/or limbus are treated with cryotherapy in a double-freeze technique followed by a slow thaw.
