Dr. Lisa Arbisser presents a case in which she improvised and cut the haptic since it was causing problems and the lens was extremely stable. As Dr. Osher says, “Sometimes it requires a special strategy to reposition or exchange a lens successfully.” In this case, a sutureless 23-gauge vitrectomy had originally been planned since the inferior edge of the implant was exposed and the haptic was poking through the iris ‑ an unsustainable situation.
