In this video from Dr. Osher's Video Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Dr. Steven Vold shares a case of expulsive hemorrhage encountered during the repositioning of a subluxated IOL. Liberal use of Healon 5 viscoelastic in the anterior chamber helps keep the choroidal hemorrhage at bay while the surgeon completes the case. The surgeon uses a modified McCannel suture technique and and Siepser sliding knot to fixate the haptics to the iris. The patient's vision is restored to 20/30 by the 3-month postoperative visit.
