Drs. Tahsin Khundkar and Sandra Montezuma illustrate the steps of an intraocular foreign body (IOFB) removal, with particular attention to the anterior segment parts of the surgery. The patient suffered the injury while operating a nail gun. After the anterior lens capsule was stained, a small flap presented itself. Surgeons were able to propagate the flap to create a continuous curvilinear capsulorhexis. They aspirated the lens material with the vitrector and performed an anterior vitrectomy through the compromised posterior capsule.
