Drs. Tomas Moreno and Shriji Patel present a case of a case of a 35-year-old male who presented 1 week following a projectile injury to his left eye while hammering metal. He was found to have a self-sealed limbal laceration with anterior chamber and posterior chamber inflammation that was consistent with early endophthalmitis. Notably, there was a metallic appearing foreign body suspended in the vitreous along with a subhyaloid purulent collection. Drs. Moreno and Patel demonstrate how they performed a pars plana vitrectomy with a scleral buckle, lensectomy and foreign body removal.
