IOL Removal with 23-Gauge MST Scissors

Drs. Vincent Y. Ho and Gaurav K. Shah demonstrate a technique to remove a dislocated anterior chamber IOL using single-use 23-gauge MicroSurgical Technology (MST) scissors. After creation of a pars plana incision, a 23-gauge vitrectomy was performed under chandelier illumination. The scissors are used to cut the IOL into 3 pieces, which are removed through the enlarged sclerotomy.
