Large-Diameter Anterior Lamellar Keratoplasty with Ipsilateral Posterior Lamellar Autograft for Advanced Pellucid Marginal Degeneration

Large diameter anterior lamellar keratoplasty can be combined with an ipsilateral posterior lamellar autograft for corneal reconstruction of extreme pellucid marginal degeneration. This novel procedure provides a substantial refractive benefit while avoiding unnecessary introduction of new endothelium, thereby obviating the risk of endothelial rejection and resultant graft failure.
