In this video presented during the Retinaws symposium at the 2011 Annual Meeting, Dr. Ehab El Rayes demostrates how to manage macular folds that often result in infants with regressed retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) and that compromise macular vision. Dr. El Rayes recesses the thin, elastic retinal tissue that causes traction and tenting away from the choroid. He then relocates the fovea in place of the recessed tissue to restore functional vision.
