This surgical video shows the management of a macular retinal fold, which is a rare but significant complication after retinal detachment repair with vitrectomy. Dr. Puthenparambil demonstrates a technique which involves inducing a retinal detachment, followed by manual separation of the fold with a diamond dusted scrapper, and then flattening of the fold with PFO. Subsequently, a fluid-air exchange is performed and the subretinal fluid is drained through a peripheral retinotomy. Post-operative OCT shows successful resolution of the macular fold.
