Management of Intraocular Silicone Oil Migration

In this surgical video, Drs. Ali Mokhtarzadeh, Yao Wang and Collin McClelland manage vision loss caused by retrolaminar migration of silicone oil to the optic chiasm. The 75-year-old patient had preexisting glaucoma, recurrent retinal detachment and previous silicone oil placement in the right eye. When the patient presented with vision loss in the left eye, Dr. Mokhtarzadeh and colleagues performed optic nerve sheath fenestration to reduce the burden of oil on the optic chiasm.
