    Modified Locking Siepser Knot

    Cataract/Anterior Segment

This video demonstrates the locking square knot variation of the Siepser intraocular knot technique developed by Drs. Robert Osher and Michael Snyder. After suture placement through the iris periphery and under the haptic of an IOL, the suture loop is retrieved though the primary paracentesis and the trailing strand is placed down through the loop—making sure the loop is above the trailing strand—and wrapped twice. Next, the process is repeated, this time with the loop oriented below the trailing strand.
