Pneumatic Retinopexy: Laser and Cryo Retinopexy

In this whiteboard video, Drs. Rajeev Muni, Carolina Francisconi and team discuss the nuances to consider when determining the preferred approach for retinopexy: laser retinopexy or cryopexy. Laser retinopexy is usually preferred over cryopexy due to its lower risk of releasing RPE cells into the vitreous and faster chorioretinal adhesion. However, for certain cases, cryopexy is advantageous.
