Dr. Ahmed Shalash demonstrates management of a corneal flap that was displaced during routine sub-Bowman's keratomileusis (SBK). First, he uses a marker to distinguish the epithelial surface from the stromal surface, a spatula to unfold the flap, and dry sponges to smooth the flap back into place. Following removal of residual epithelial cells from the stromal side of the flap and the stromal bed, BSS is added along with an antibiotic and a contact lens. The patient achieved 20/20 vision after a month.
