IOL Refixation with Gore-Tex

Drs. Jason Hsu and Irving Raber demonstrate their technique for refixation of a dislocated Alcon CZ70BD intraocular lens using Gore-Tex suture. In this case, one of the Prolene sutures placed years earlier broke. Instead of explanting the dislocated IOL, the Gore-Tex suture was threaded within the posterior chamber through the dislocated eyelet of the lens, allowing refixation to the sclera. Given the lack of memory and high visibility of the Gore-Tex, this maneuver could be accomplished quite easily.
