In this video, Drs. Riley Sanders and Sami Uwaydat demonstrate a technique to remove a long intraocular foreign body. They internally stabilize the trailing end with intraocular forceps while pulling on the leading edge through the entry wound. The maneuver assures that the trailing edge of the foreign body does not injure the retina. The video also highlights the challenges of performing phacoemulsification and pars plana vitrectomy in an eye with endophthalmitis.
