In this video, Dr. R. Rishi Gupta demonstrates fixation of a Reper artificial iris-IOL complex using Gore-Tex suture. The patient was a 57-year-old contact-lens intolerant patient with photophobia secondary to a large traumatic iridodialysis. He was referred for anterior segment reconstruction after previously undergoing pars plana vitrectomy and lensectomy and receiving a scleral buckle for his injury. Dr. Gupta performs scleral-fixation of a Reper artificial iris-IOL complex, a CE-marked product from Russia that is made from a hydrophobic acrylic material. The surgery resulted in a nice cosmetic outcome and resolution of photophobia. At 1-month postop, the patient’s BCVA was 20/40.
